Frank Grillo, best known for his roles in ‘Captain America,’ ‘The Purge,’ and ‘Copshop,’ will soon be seen in the action film ‘MR-9,’ which will begin filming in the United States and Bangladesh.

The espionage action thriller by writer-director Asif Akbar is based on the classic Masud Rana books by late novelist Qazi Anwar Hussain. The plot is being kept under wraps, but we gather that Grillo will portray the antagonist of Bangladesh Counter-Intelligence Agency secret agent Rana, code name MR-9.
It is also reported that Akbar, Aziz, and Nazim Ud Daula developed the script for the film from the first novel ‘Masud Rana: Dhonghsho Pahar,’ which was initially published in 1966. Hussain wrote 550 volumes in the series, which is based on the James Bond film franchise.

Grillo also has roles in the upcoming Lionsgate feature ‘Paradise Highway’ opposite Morgan Freeman, who is noted for his godlike voice, and the biopic ‘Lamborghini,’ in which he portrays founder Ferruccio Lamborghini.
