Following his victory in his lawsuit against ex-wife Amber Heard, the actor, 58, sang What’s Going On? and Isolation in front of 3,000 admirers at the Royal Concert Hall, with the crowd yelling “innocent!” back at him.
According to TMZ, Johnny was on stage for half an hour, demonstrating his vocal abilities and guitar capabilities, as well as playing A Day In The Life by The Beatles.
Depp will be performing in Glasgow for the sixth time this week, following appearances in Sheffield, London, and Gateshead.
Johnny is currently performing on stage with his musician friend Jeff, having recently been won $10 million in a defamation claim against his ex-wife Amber.
As he walked out of the Royal Concert Hall, the actor was spotted waving to the fans.
Johnny was not at the Virginia courthouse on Wednesday, where a jury determined his ex-wife had been defamed when one of his attorneys claimed her allegations of sexual assault were a “hoax,” since he was on tour with the singer in the United Kingdom.
The Edward Scissorhands actor was formally added to the line-up for the balance of his singer pal’s U.K. tour on Thursday.
Last week, Jeff invited his Hollywood legend on stage with him for the first time, while a jury in America began deciding on the actor’s defamation case against his former spouse.
Johnny’s surprise presence allegedly elicited raucous applause from the audience, with many pleased to see him, but few were impressed with his musical abilities.
“Jeff Beck was excellent,” a fan who purchased tickets two years ago before Covid postponed the tour told the BBC.
“The thing that spoiled the whole night was the talentless Mr Depp. He was like a drunken pub singer at one point. I don’t know what Jeff Beck’s thinking of.”
The majority of fans, on the other hand, have been ecstatic to see the Hollywood star perform alongside his long-time pal.
After thanking the jury in his defamation case against Aquaman actress Amber, 36, for “giving me my life back,” Johnny decided to pursue a career as a musician.
Following a six-week high-profile televised defamation lawsuit, the City of Lies actor was granted compensatory damages of $10 million (£8 million) and punitive damages of $5 million (£4 million).
