
Johnny Depp’s victory in a defamation battle boosts Dior fragrance sales
- On Wednesday, Johnny Depp won a multimillion-dollar defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard.

- Allegations were that Depp had been dismissed from two of Disney’s most successful properties, Pirates of the Caribbean and The Fantastic Beasts.
- Despite this, some of the actor’s fans and companies continued to support him. It has been noted that fragrance company Dior has never dropped Depp as an ambassador.
Following the announcement of the verdict in Depp’s defamation lawsuit, Dior, which has been working with the Rum Diary actor since 2015, noticed an unexpected increase in demand for Sauvage fragrance.
According to Wall Street Journal data, Dior’s sales increased during the slander lawsuit between the Hollywood personalities.

Dior’s Sauvage was just awarded the world’s second most popular fragrance, behind only Maison Francis Kurkdjian’s Baccarat Rouge 540, which was rated the most popular.

In his defamation action against Heard, a jury awarded Depp $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive penalties.
