Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Platinum Jubilee visit was cut short. The couple returned to California with their 3-year-old son Archie and 1-year-old daughter LiIlibet on Sunday. The family allegedly flew out of Farnborough Airport on a private plane, missing the Platinum Jubilee Pageant, which marked the end of Queen Elizabeth II’s four-day celebrations.

As they flew back to the United States, family members of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex watched the final march from the Buckingham Palace balcony. Prince Louis, the 96-year-old monarch’s great-grandson, stole the show with his funny facial expressions and antics during the event, which marked the monarch’s record 70 years of service. Prince William and Kate Middleton’s 4-year-old son charmed jubilee spectators with his balcony antics during the Trooping the Colour ceremony last Thursday.

Despite their resignation from royal obligations in February 2021, both Harry, 37, and Markle, 40, were present during Trooping the Colour, albeit they did not appear on the balcony. According to Page Six,  “After careful consideration, the Queen has decided that this year’s traditional Trooping the Colour balcony appearance … will be limited to Her Majesty and those members of the royal family who are currently undertaking official public duties on behalf of the Queen.”
