Bruce Willis ‘ eldest daughter Rumer Willis has said it’s a “privilege” to be one of his children, as the family mark their first Father’s Day since announcing that he has aphasia.

The father-of-five, 67, said earlier this year that he would be retiring from acting owing to health challenges, with his family revealing that he suffers from cognitive difficulties.

Bruce was diagnosed with aphasia, a disorder that affects a person’s language and speech, according to his relatives.

To commemorate their first Father’s Day together after learning the news, his eldest daughter Rumer, 33, turned to Instagram earlier this morning to elaborate on her experience as one of his children.

Tallulah Willis, 28, the youngest of Bruce’s three children with ex-wife Demi Moore, 59, also paid tribute to their father on social media.

She posted a couple of photos and wrote in the caption: “You showed me how to love people from a smile [and] that strength resides in the self possessed goofball.”

Tallulah continued: “Taught me this neat way to make your arms grow and lengthen to hold as many people as possible close and cosy. You are by far my coolest friend.”

Bruce’s family released a statement on social media earlier this year announcing his retirement from acting, citing his health as the reason.

They said he had been “experiencing some health issues” and had been diagnosed with aphasia, which they said in the statement had been “impacting his cognitive abilities”.

His wife Emma Heming Willis, 44, and his children Rumer, Scout, 30, Tallulah, Mabel, nine, and Evelyn, seven, all signed the declaration. Demi, his ex-wife, was a signatory as well.
