A jury in Fairfax, Virginia has voted in favor of Johnny Depp after seven weeks of dramatic testimony in the $100 million Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard defamation trial, but the actor was not present at the time.
Due to business commitments, an insider close to the Oscar contender, 58, told Us Weekly that the Pirates of the Caribbean star will not be able to make it before the trial.
“Due to previously scheduled work commitments made before the trial, Mr. Depp will not be physically present for today’s 3 p.m. verdict and will be watching from the United Kingdom.”
However, minutes after the findings in his defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard were read, the 58-year-old penned a heartfelt statement.

Johnny wrote, “ The Jury gave me my life back,” he said, adding later.” Truth never perishes.”

The Kentucky native has been in the United Kingdom for at least a few days, making a special appearance on stage at his friend Jeff Beck’s concert on Sunday, May 29.
Depp also joined the 77-year-old guitarist at his London shows on Monday, May 30 and Tuesday, May 31. Kate Moss, the actor’s ex-girlfriend, attended the latter and testified about their relationship last week.
