She made her acting debut as the lead in the drama series Dharkan. She went on to star in a number of more dramas after that. Zara rose to prominence with her roles in the plays Ehd-e-Wafa, Phaans, Khamoshi, and Zebaish. Khamoshi was her second serial, however it was well received by the audience.
