Donald Glover disclosed a brand-new pair of “new balance” sneakers with an animated short film.

Donald, better known by his stage as Childish Gambino, continues his venture into the shoe business by entering into a new partnership with New Balance. Childish Gambino is a well-known musician, actor, writer, director, and comedian.

On Thursday, July 7, the Atlanta native posted an animated short film to his Instagram account to mark the release of the RC30, the brand’s newest pair of shoes. The three-minute film follows two anthropomorphic advertising execs as they work to create a campaign for the RC30 while showcasing the new look.

We thought Donald was an excellent collaborator for New Balance to take a more thoughtful approach because celebrity-endorsed sneakers are released every weekend, according to Joe Grondin, Business Unit Manager of Global Collaborations & Energy Projects at New Balance.

No garish hues or overt branding, simply traditional, wearable shades of a fresh silhouette that complemented Donald’s fashion sense, he continued.
