Ryan Gosling has hinted that Ken might be short for cash in the upcoming Barbie movie.

One of the most talked-about future films already has Margot Robbie as the eponymous Barbie. And Gosling’s most recent remarks about his persona only serve to heighten the mystique.

In an interview while promoting his new movie The Gray Man, Gosling joked: “That Ken life is even harder than the Gray Man life, I think.

“Ken’s got no money, he’s got no job, he’s got no car, he’s got no house. He’s going through some stuff.”

Gosling has bleached blonde hair in the photos of him and Robbie in costume, and behind-the-scenes films from the shoot have also been posted on social media.

Greta Gerwig, who previously directed Little Women and Lady Bird, also co-wrote the screenplay with her boyfriend Noah Baumbach. In his own right, Baumbach is an Oscar-nominated director who most recently wrote Marriage Story.
