Meghan and Harry warned against going into ‘lion’s den’
When they return to the UK next month, Meghan Markle and her husband Prince Harry have been cautioned against entering what is being referred to as the “lion’s den,” according to Express UK.
Following the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s announcement on Monday that they would be visiting charities in the UK in September, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliam commented that their impending return would be “quite challenging.”
Fitzwilliam believes it may be challenging to handle the couple’s declining popularity in the UK.
We’ve got Oprah, and we know how terrible that was, and there have been a lot of interviews they’ve done about the Royal Family, not to mention Harry’s planned memoir, he continued.
“What has happened is that their ratings have decreased astronomically throughout this time. In Britain, their standing has plummeted, he continued.
“They know when they appear to be at war with the press here, it’s kind of like venturing into the lion’s den now because you’ve got the public who aren’t supportive and you’ve got the press who are ferociously against them — and then you’ve also got the royal family where there’s a rift,” Fitzwilliam continued.
