Pakistani celebrities raise voice over Faisalabad assault case
In yet another incident of violence against women in Pakistan, a medical student was allegedly kidnapped, tortured, and sexually raped in Faisalabad by a powerful businessman and at least five other men. And Pakistanis are horrified by the state our nation has fallen into.
Like many citizens, Pakistani celebrities are angered by the scenario and have spoken out in support of the victim who has through a traumatic experience while the offenders are free.
After video of the victim being assaulted and humiliated went viral on social media, police initiated action against six offenders. As the video gained popularity on social media, users urged people to roll their heads over the victim’s egregious humiliation.

Police have arrested six suspects including a woman for torturing a female medical student, who was assaulted for refusing a marriage proposal.
A medical report confirmed that torture marks were found on multiple parts of the body along with injuries on face, eyes, elbows and hands while her eyebrows and head were also shaved.
Punjab police claimed to have arrested at least six people, including a woman, involved in assaulting the medical student.
Police said CPO Faisalabad has deployed a special team to probe the entire incident and all suspects in the case will be brought to justice.
Police registered a case against six suspects and ten others on charges of abducting a girl and her brother from their house in Faisalabad and later subjecting to severe torture and humiliation.
The suspects also released videos of the torture on social media which led to outrage against the incident, resulting in the arrest of at least six suspects.
Police produced the woman accused in court and sought a 14-day physical remand. The police produced suspect Maham in the court of District Magistrate Ali Raza.
