Princess Anne’s 72nd birthday is being celebrated with the royal family’s best wishes.

Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip’s only daughter received social media tributes from all three of the royal family’s official accounts on Monday. The main feed of the royal family shared a photo of Princess Anne from the Not Forgotten Association Garden Party at Buckingham Palace in May, where she wore a floral-patterned ensemble and a purple hat.

Clarence House, the official account for Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, also shared the tweet on their Instagram story.

Prince William and Kate Middleton both congratulated the couple on Instagram and Twitter. During the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June, the couple shared a photo of Princess Anne attending the Epsom Derby at Epsom Racecourse on their Instagram story. On Twitter, they also stated, “Wishing a very happy birthday to The Princess Royal today!” along with a birthday cake emoji.”

Princess Anne, a grandmother of five, is Princess Royal. Anne is the seventh Princess Royal since King Charles I named Princess Mary in 1642.

It’s usually given to the monarch’s eldest daughter, but not always. Before Anne, the last Princess Royal was Princess Mary, who lived until 1965. Princess Anne was the first royal to hold the decade since Queen Elizabeth in 1987.
