Princess Anne’s 72nd birthday is being celebrated with the royal family’s best wishes.

Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip’s only daughter received social media tributes from all three of the royal family’s official accounts on Monday. The main feed of the royal family shared a photo of Princess Anne from the Not Forgotten Association Garden Party at Buckingham Palace in May, where she wore a floral-patterned ensemble and a purple hat.

During the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June, the couple shared a photo of Princess Anne attending the Epsom Derby at Epsom Racecourse on their Instagram story. Anne has dedicated her life to serving Queen and country while raising her children, Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips, and competing as an Olympic standard equestrian.

She’s one of the hardest working royals, attending hundreds of engagements each year. Anne clocked 506 in 2019, but Prince Charles beat her with 521. She’s involved with over 300 charities and organisations.

It’s usually given to the monarch’s eldest daughter, but not always. Before Anne, the last Princess Royal was Princess Mary, who lived until 1965. Princess Anne was the first royal to hold the decade since Queen Elizabeth in 1987.
