Ryan Grantham gets life sentence for murdering his mother
Ryan Grantham, who played Archie in Riverdale and Greg in Diary of a Wimpy Kid, has been given a life sentence for killing his mother in March 2020. At the sentencing on September 20, Grantham was also told that he could never own a gun again. Grantham pleaded guilty to the second-degree murder charge against him, according to the media source.
The media says that Ryan admitted to shooting his mother Barbara Waite in the head with a single gunshot while she was playing the piano. The Supreme Court of British Columbia, which is in Vancouver, made the decision. Grantham is known for playing Jeffrey on Riverdale. Jeffrey is a young man who kills Fred Andrews (Luke Perry) in a hit-and-run accident. He was also in Supernatural, iZombie, and Falling Skies.
When the sentencing for Grantham’s case started, it was also said that Ryan might have planned to kill Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. At the time, Complex Canada said that Grantham had plans to kill Trudeau, which he told the police about and also wrote about in his private journal.
Grantham admitted to second-degree murder earlier this year, even though he was first charged with first-degree murder. The court also saw videos that Grantham took during the whole ordeal, including one where he admitted to killing the man. It was also said that Grantham had thought about killing a lot of people, maybe even at his college, Simon Fraser University. Lisa Grantham, who is Grantham’s sister, also said in court that her brother is dangerous.
