The coronation of King Charles III on May 6, 2022, at Westminster Abbey will give Britons an extra bank holiday.

The new queen, who is 73 years old, has declared May 8 a holiday so that families can “come together and celebrate” the event.

Buckingham Palace said that the event would be a big deal when they announced the news. “reflect the monarch’s role today and look towards the future.”
