‘Chucky’ clip teases fight between Ripped Chucky & Good Chucky
‘Chucky’, a Syfy and USA Network series now in its second season, has been a ratings success, slashing weekly viewership statistics. The show’s sophomore season has been no exception, always maintaining a creative edge and pushing his titular deadly doll in unexpected areas.
Don Mancini’s Child’s Play brand has made us laugh while leaving the lights on for almost three decades. Fans were curious how the concept of the pint-sized, knife-wielding Chucky would transition to such a different format when he announced that he’d be making a television series as a semi-spinoff from the movies.
In a new video, viewers can see what to expect from Wednesday’s episode, “Doll on Doll.” As the title suggests, we’ll see two of the eponymous dolls square off this week.
There are spoilers ahead if you haven’t been keeping up, but if you have, you’ll already know that this season has introduced us to a truckload of freshly possessed Good Guys dolls ready to wreak havoc on the world around them – save for one.
The clip, dubbed “Good Chucky,” shows the (apparently) kind-hearted doll seated across a table from the brawny and beefy “Ripped Chucky.”
The kind and caring doll deflects his suggestions of murdering his friends, Jake (Zackary Arthur), Lexy (Alyvia Alyn Lind), and Devon (Björgvin Arnarson), as the muscle-bound version of the red-headed menace shows off a sharpened pair of knives.
Jake and Devon listen in on the other side of the door, attempting to figure out if the good Chucky can genuinely be relied on. When push comes to shove, a very amusing battle sequence between the dolls ensues, with Good Chucky revealing what caused him to turn away from murder.
It’s no surprise that the follow-up season of Chucky has been such a treat for spectators to watch, with plenty of characters resurrecting and funny nods to previous shows.
Last week’s programme, hosted by Jennifer Tilly’s Tiffany Valentine to commemorate the return of her and Chucky’s twins, Glen and Glenda, was one of the most anticipated of the season (Lachlan Watson).
Tiffany was unaware that the kids had their own plan in the works, inviting a plethora of Tilly’s real-life loved ones to join them.
Tilly’s sister Meg Tilly, her Bound co-stars Gina Gershon and Joe Pantoliano, and her friend and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills actress Sutton Stracke were all involved in what turned out to be a murder mystery.
As Mancini mentioned in a recent interview, some of those guests will appear in future episodes, so keep a watch out.
Check out the preview for “Doll on Doll” below, and witness the complete clash tomorrow, Wednesday, November 2 at 9:00 p.m. ET on Syfy and USA Network.
