Meghan Markle doesn’t understand Prince Harry’s King Charles-inherited habit
The primary role of parents is to instil in their offspring the values and behaviours necessary for them to be successful once they reach adulthood.
It would appear that Prince Harry has adopted at least one behaviour pattern from his father, King Charles, that frequently leaves his wife, Meghan Markle, perplexed.
Several years ago, the Duke of Sussex discussed the habit in a documentary about his father; Prince William also admitted that he had engaged in the practice. The documentary was about the Duke of Windsor.
What about the routine? They all have an unhealthy preoccupation with turning off the lights in rooms when they are not there to use them.
In the documentary Prince, Son and Heir, the Prince children talk about their father. Charles, who was 70 at the time, was described by Harry as “a stickler for turning lights off.”
“And that’s now something that I’m obsessed with as well, which is insane because actually, my wife goes ‘Well, why turn the lights off? You know it’s dark’. “I go ‘we only need one light, we don’t need like six’, and all of a sudden, it becomes a habit and those small habit changes he’s making, every single person can do. And I think that’s one of the key lessons certainly that I felt that he taught us.” William agreed with his brother, adding: “I know I’ve got serious OCD on light switches now which is terrible.”
In spite of the fact that Harry used to speak highly of his father, the relationship between the two is currently described as being “near rock bottom.”
And it would appear that Prince Harry will turn down an invitation from Prince Charles to spend Christmas together in advance of the worldwide release of the prince’s book on January 10.
The book has already caused widespread upheaval among the royal family, and its title, Spare, is a reference to the fact that he spent his childhood in the shadow of the heir William.
After the passing of the Queen, those with knowledge of the situation expressed the hope that there would be a “thawing of relations” between the feuding relatives.
But according to sources, they have “no plans” to once again join the family at Sandringham Estate in Norfolk for their first Christmas without the Queen. This will be William and his wife Kate’s first Christmas without the Queen.
