Ahead of The People We Hate at the Wedding’s November 18 launch, we are excited to share the news of an all-new partnership between the meme website Awkward Family Photos (AFP) and the Prime Video series.

The cooperation event, titled “The Portraits We Hate at the Wedding,” will take place on November 11 and 12, respectively, from 10 AM to 7 PM PST, in front of HRB at 10250 Santa Monica Blvd. Los Angeles, California 90067

In celebration of the upcoming movie about a dysfunctional family that will be tested as a wedding threatens to either tear them apart or bring them closer together, the two will throw a LA pop-up event as part of their partnership.

With a series of humorous and fun photographs, “The Portraits We Hate at the Wedding” invites people to celebrate the imperfections of family and relationships and asks those visiting to “embrace their awkwardness.” There will also be specific periods when visitors will be able to collect unique gifts.

If you can’t make it to the live pop-up event, Awkward Family Images is also running an online competition in support of the movie where participants may upload their own embarrassing wedding, family, and vacation photos to the official AFP Facebook and Instagram accounts. The deadline for entries is December 1, and the winning images will receive rewards!

The People We Hate at the Wedding, a film based on Grant Ginder’s best-selling book of the same name, centres on Alice and Paul, played by Kristen Bell and Ben Platt, respectively.
