Devoleena Bhattacharjee, who became well-known during her time on Saath Nibhana Saathiya, recently wed Shanawaz Shaikh, the love of her life, on December 14, 2022.

The pair made the trip to Lonavala, where they were married in a formal ceremony. Devoleena opted for a modest wedding with just her family and close friends present rather than a big wedding day. Only their closest friends and family members attended their pre-wedding and post-wedding events. Devoleena now discusses what led her to opt for a modest wedding rather than spectacular nuptials.

Devoleena Bhattacharjee explained her decision to have a small and low-key wedding, stating, “I think that when I was a teenager, I constantly anticipated and counted down to a royal nuptial. But during the Covid-19 shutdown, I realized the value of money and many other facets of life. I believe there will come a time when we must buck the trend and educate the public that being famous on your wedding day alone does not make you a royal. I believe it is good and pure to use that sizable sum of hard-earned money to help those in need and accept their blessings for a happy life rather than waste it. I don’t think that showing off my regal lifestyle will be of any assistance to me.”

Devoleena responded when asked if the wedding had been planned for months or if it had just come to mind “I was very certain of my love. My mum was there with me because it was my big day. I’m very grateful to the universe for giving me such a wonderful day because it did happen.”

On the work front, Devoleena has appeared in the popular, contentious show Bigg Boss 14, and her most recent appearance was in the short film First Second Chance.
