Kate Hudson knew who to call if she had questions about skydiving.

During their “Actors on Actors” talk for Variety, the actress from “The Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” told Glen Powell that she once called his co-star from “Top Gun: Maverick,” Tom Cruise, to ask him about skydiving. Hudson said it came up because Ryder, her 18-year-old son and the oldest of her children, wanted to do it.

“Recently, my son told me he wanted to skydive. And I had no idea what to do next. He’s 18. I thought, “I should call Tom.” She said, “And Tom was so excited about it.”

Hudson, who is 43 years old, said, “I thought, Please, who do I call? I don’t want Ryder to go anywhere strange. And Tom was very happy. I wanted to go solo diving by the end of this phone call. He had shown me how amazing skydiving was in some way. And you used to work with Tom. Now you’re a pilot. Did he talk to you about flying and why it’s important?”

Powell, who is 34, then said that Cruise, who is 60, has a “contagious” love of flying.

“The Blue Angels were on my wall when I was growing up. I’ve always liked planes. “But Tom’s love of flying is the most contagious thing I’ve ever seen,” he said. “He will fly on set in his old World War II plane, a P-51. It’s because of this reality-warping field that he can make you believe that anything is possible. He goes to work every day like it’s his first.”

Back in February 2020, Hudson told the story on The Ellen DeGeneres Show of the time Cruise crashed her party in epic fashion.

She said that when her parents Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell were away, she and her brother Oliver Hudson would throw big parties. When hundreds of people showed up to one party, it got a little out of hand. So, Kate, who is a “control freak,” had to act as a bouncer to try to get things under control.

The baby of Billie Lourd has been born!

Her dad told people at Variety’s Dealmakers Breakfast in Beverly Hills on Tuesday that the “American Horror Story” star gave birth to her second child with husband Austen Rydell on Monday.

Onstage at the event, talent agent Bryan Lourd said, “My daughter had a baby last night.” “I left the hospital at 1:30 and got back there at 6 this morning. “I’m happy but a little tired.”

After the birth of his new grandchild, the 66-year-old co-chairman of CAA said, “The adrenaline is still flowing.”

Billie told everyone she was pregnant in September, when she held her baby bump at the premiere of “Ticket to Paradise.”

The actress put a picture of her growing belly in a sequined pink dress on Instagram with the caption, ”

Kingston is Lourd and Rydell’s 2-year-old son. Both of them are 30 years old.

Billie’s mother was the late actress Carrie Fisher. When she was expecting her first child in 2020, she kept her pregnancy a secret.

Then, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Lourd shocked her Instagram followers by posting a photo of her baby’s feet.

“Meet Kingston Fisher Lourd Rydell,” the new mom wrote on Instagram at the time with blue heart emojis.

Mark Hamill, who played Luke Skywalker in “Star Wars,” said on Twitter that he couldn’t think of another baby with the names “KING” and “LORD.” Nice.”

Even though Lourd and Rydell keep their family life private and have even covered Kingston’s face on social media, the “Scream Queens” alum has sometimes talked about being a parent.

In May, she wrote on Instagram, “Being Kingston’s mom is, in a nutshell, the best thing ever.” “It would be too simple to say that being his mom makes me the happiest person in the world.”

The New York University graduate said she misses her mother, who died at age 60 in 2016, “a whole damn lot.”

She ended by saying, “Mother’s Day doesn’t have to be just happy. It can be many different things at the same time. So happy Mother’s Day, but also sad, lonely, disconnected, painful, awkward, weird, sad, etc. Have a great Mother’s Day!”

“I’m standing at the door to make sure no one comes in who isn’t supposed to be there. About 400 people are at my parents’ house, Hudson said. “I’m a little scared because I see someone literally climbing up an 8-foot gate at my parents’ house. They get off, do a back handspring, and pose. I’m about to yell at this guy, and it’s Tom Cruise.”

She said she went over to greet the actor, who wasn’t invited but came because he “heard there was a party.”

“So that’s how he gets everywhere,” host Ellen DeGeneres joked. “He just climbs things.” Kate replied, “Yes! He is the man who can do anything. It’s crazy.”
