King Harald discharged from hospital after 48 hours
The royal palace said that King Harald of Norway was released from the hospital on Wednesday. He had been there for two days because he had an infection that needed antibiotics.
“The king is recovering well, but will have to take it easy for a few days,” the palace said in a statement.
Harald has been king of Scandinavia for more than 30 years. On Monday, he was taken to a hospital in Oslo to get intravenous antibiotics. This is the latest in a string of recent health problems.
Officially, he was supposed to stay there for “a few days,” but he was let go after only 48 hours.
On Wednesday, the newspaper showed a picture of the king, who is 85 years old, sitting in the back of a black limousine.
Harald uses crutches to get around now. He recently had Covid, knee surgery, and breathing problems, and in August he was in the hospital with another infection.
In 2003, the king had surgery for bladder cancer. In 2005, he had surgery for problems with his heart valves.
