“Lullaby,” the upcoming horror film released its official new trailer recently, and it contains enough scares to pique the interest of any horror fan.
In the film, Oona Chaplin (Game of Thrones) will fight to save her family from an ancient demon. On December 16, 2022, Lullaby will be released in select theatres and on demand.
Chaplin plays a new mother with a young baby and a perfect life in Lullaby. That is, until she sings a lullaby from an ancient book to her child.
What she thought was a blessing is actually a song summoning an ancient demon named Lilith. The mother must now find a way to stop the demon before she steals her child for good.
The trailer wastes no time in introducing the plot, which depicts how a new mother’s song resurrects an old fearsome demon.
The rest of the trailer then teases many of the scares that audiences can expect to see in the finished film. A large portion of the trailer features a spooky sequence in which the mother believes she can’t find the child she can hear crying, only to find the baby dressed as a demon.
Fans also see the mother hallucinating Lilith taking the child and Chaplin’s character being dragged into a mirror. The trailer effortlessly serves up enough terrifying imagery to pique the interest of genre fans.
John R. Leonetti directs Lullaby, which is based on a script by Alex Greenfield and Ben Powell. Leonetti is a former cinematographer turned director whose previous work has primarily been in the horror genre.
He worked as a cinematographer on films such as Insidious and The Conjuring, as well as directing The Conjuring spin-off Annabelle.
Rámon Rodrguez, Liane Balaban, and Kira Guloien co-star with Chaplin in the film. Rodrguez is well-known for his roles in television shows such as The Affair and Iron Fist, as well as films such as Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Battle Los Angeles.
Balaban has previously appeared in episodes of shows such as Covert Affairs and Supernatural, while Guloien has appeared in episodes of Murdoch Mysteries and Coroner.
