Kinsey Schofield was taken aback by the statements of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle about the harsh press surrounding their lives.
According to the reports, Kinsey views the Duke and Duchess of Sussex as performers, rather than members of the royal family, and believes that all they’re attempting to do is deflect hatred and gain popular support. The American journalist saw them in stark contrast to Princess Diana.
The media’s hostile coverage of the couple is a major theme in Harry and Meghan’s Netflix documentary, with the Duchess stating, “No matter what I did they were still going to find a way to destroy me.”
Nicholas Witchell of the BBC labeled that claim “absurd.”
Kinsey insulted the Duchess on a controversial point in the documentary: Meghan’s recreation of her curtsy to Queen Elizabeth. In light of the Queen’s passing in September, she viewed the sequence as insulting and one that should have been eliminated.
Now, she concedes that Queen Elizabeth II would likely have laughed at the reenactment, but she feels there is evidence that it irritated Harry.
