Melanie Lynskey joined by familiar face in second season of Showtime’s Yellowjackets
Yellowjackets is keeping everything within the household.
According to a magazine, Jason Ritter will appear in the forthcoming second season of Yellowjackets on Showtime, which also features his wife Melanie Lynskey.
As is the case with most Yellowjackets-related information, specifics are currently unavailable.
After Ritter and Lynskey both participated in Hulu’s Candy, it will be the married couple’s second collaboration in as many years.
It turns out that Lynskey was the one who secured Ritter’s placement as Deputy Denny Reese on Candy, the limited-run television series that stars Jessica Biel as alleged axe killer Candy Montgomery.
“It was over Christmastime and we were all texting on a group text,” Lynskey, who played Montgomery’s victim Betty Gore, told in May. “I texted a picture of Jason with our daughter, and he had grown a mustache just out of pure boredom. [Showrunner] Robin [Veith] was like, ‘Wait a minute. He looks very period appropriate.'”
Perhaps she’s worked her casting magic again!
Ritter won’t be the only new face on the extremely suspenseful block, despite the fact that we are unsure of who he will be playing in Yellowjackets.
In August, it was revealed that Lauren Ambrose, a Six Feet Under veteran, would play adult Van, whose younger self is portrayed by Liv Hewson, and that Simone Kessell would play adult Lottie, whose younger self is portrayed by Courtney Eaton.
It was also announced in August that Elijah Wood would be joining season two as “Walter, a dedicated Citizen Detective,” according to the network, “who will challenge Misty (Christina Ricci) in ways she won’t see coming.”
Season two of Yellowjackets premieres March 24 on Showtime and—good news!—it’s already been renewed for season three.
