‘Nobody 2’: Bob Odenkirk’s action sequel will be released next year

• Nobody sees Bob Odenkirk’s character become a serial killer.
• After his daughter’s bracelet is stolen.
• The sequel will pick up where Nobody left off, or jump ahead to when they’re all settled.

While we’ve known that Nobody 2 producer David Leitch has been working on a script since last August, the cast and crew behind the action sequel have remained silent.

However, in an exclusive interview with Alyse Wax for the action-comedy Violent Night, producer Kelly McCormick reveals that the Nobody sequel will be shot next year.

Nobody sees a man crushed by the weight of everyday life become a ruthless killer after his daughter (Paisley Cadorath) gets a unique kitty-cat bracelet stolen during a robbery, starring Bob Odenkirk as suburban father Hutch.

Hutch has a dark past as a serial killer, but up until now, he’s kept his cool. However, something snaps inside Hutch after the theft, prompting him to track down the organisation responsible for the crime. Leitch’s expertise is, as the name implies, a cathartic experience of glorified violence.

Nobody ended with them on the road, leaving us to wonder if the sequel will pick up where they left off or jump ahead to when they’re all settled.

Of course, we want to know when Nobody 2 will be released in theatres, but according to McCormick, the film’s crew is working hard to create a sequel that outperforms the original in every way. She puts it this way:

“We hope to make it [Nodoby 2’s production] next year, so fingers crossed. So our theory is you don’t need to make a good sequel just to make a sequel. We need to make a great sequel. And so it’s about making sure that we get it right. And if we do, I think there’s a lot of hope that we can go next year.”

Nobody 2 will undoubtedly be a worthy sequel, thanks to McCormick and the rest of the Nobody 2 crew. Because, as Leitch explained earlier this year, “Everyone involved is like, ‘Full steam ahead.’ We are in the script process, and I think we had so much fun making that. Kelly and I had a blast, the actors had a blast, the studio loved the results, and it’s happening.”

Nobody’s universe appears to be on the minds of Leitch and McCormick, and we can’t wait to see what other wacky action set pieces they conjure for the sequel.

Nobody is directed by Derek Kolstad and stars Connie Nielsen, Christopher Lloyd, Michael Ironside, RZA, and Gage Munroe. So far, there is no word on which cast members might return for a sequel.

Nobody is currently available to watch on Hulu and HBO Max.
