Ryan Seacrest reveals Holiday Plans
Ryan Reynolds chose to celebrate ‘Spirited’ becoming the most-watched Apple TV+ film ever in a special way.
On Friday, December 23, 2022, The Deadpool disclosed that he and his co-stars, Octavia Spencer and Will Ferrell, invited Nickelback to cover the song Unredeemable from the film version of the popular musical.
“Will, @OctaviaSpencer and I are so grateful for the love everyone’s shown #Spirited. So we asked @Nickelback to sing Unredeemable,” On social media, Reynolds added captions to the video. “Just seemed like the right thing to do.”
Reynolds referred to the song as a significant “turning point” in the movie, which is based on Charles Dickens’ novel A Christmas Carol, prior to the performance.
“It’s an emotional anthem about whether humanity can overcome our mistakes. And I hope we can,” he added. “So, Merry Christmas, everyone. Let’s be kind to each other. Also, ladies and gentlemen… Nickelback.”
Going all out for the holiday theme, the band borrowed some humour from Reynolds and joined him in making light of themselves.
According to sources, the band performs while being surrounded by a number of floating photo frames that display photographs of Nickelback, scenes from Spirited, and even one of Reynolds as the Green Lantern. The song is a homage to their now-famous 2005 single “Photograph.”
Frontman Chad Kroeger reprised his famous meme moment from Nickelback’s 2005 music video Photograph towards the end of the clip.
He smiles and points while holding up a frame, this time displaying a picture of Ferrell and Reynolds holding hands in the movie.
