Netflix and the well-known hard seltzer brand White Claw have partnered, in order to promote the upcoming murder mystery Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.
A limited-edition murder-mystery game called “Crack the CLAW” was produced in conjunction with the release by Netflix and White Claw. In addition to being a collector’s item containing official rules, a moderator script, and ten double-sided coasters that designate specific player roles, the game’s launch is an advertising campaign.
You can take on the roles of a moderator, doctor, detective, unaware tourist, or murderer. In this classic “whodunit” card game, which is reminiscent of Mafia or Clue, players try to identify a murderer among them. Of course, a White Claw or two are required in order to fully appreciate it.
The cast of Glass Onion is allegedly what inspired the game. In between takes of the movie, director Rian Johnson and his cast played the party game “mafia” to help them get into character. The game was revealed by White Claw’s chief marketing officer, John Shea, according to the following statement:
“We are always looking at how we can create value for our consumers. White Claw and Netflix are both cultural powerhouses, and we’re excited to partner together this holiday season. “Crack the Claw” lends itself to gatherings of friends and family, so I can’t wait to play it with a White claw in hand over the holidays.”
However, there’s still more! Fans of White Claw will furthermore have the opportunity to win a game via social media.
Fans can participate in a competition to win a “Crack the CLAW” game over the course of 24 hours by successfully answering seven riddles that will be posted on White Claw’s Twitter and Instagram.
