Amanda Seyfried wins best limited series actress at Golden Globe’23
Amanda Seyfried 37-year-old actress’s victory on Tuesday was her first at a Golden Globes ceremony. In accepting the prize on The Dropout star Amanda Seyfried’s behalf, Yellowstone’s Cole Hauser and Mo stated that Seyfried was “deep in the process of making a musical” and was unable to attend.
Jessica Chastain (George & Tammy), Julia Garner (Inventing Anna), Lily James (Pam & Tommy), and Julia Roberts were all nominated in this category (Gaslit).
The Dropout and Pam & Tommy were also up for best limited series in 2022, so the competition was close.
Chastain has received eight previous Golden Globe nominations and one award, for her work in Zero Dark Thirty, in 2013. Garner has received two additional nominations for Ozark, while Seyfried received a nomination in 2021 for Mank. Roberts is in the lead with ten nominations under her belt, two best actress and one best supporting actress victories, for the films Pretty Woman, Erin Brockovich, and Steel Magnolias, respectively.
At the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards, Seyfriend also won for playing Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes in the mini series The Dropout.
After winning, she told PEOPLE she will display her first Emmy trophy in Nina, 5,’s nursery before acknowledging that her older child might pursue a career in entertainment, much like her parents.
When asked whether she would support her daughter’s acting career, Seyfried responded, “Totally.” “I am afraid,” says my spouse.
“I told her to do what she was going to do. She is an f—-ing actor’s kid. What do you anticipate? “The actor made a joke.
Live broadcasts of the 80th annual Golden Globe Awards are currently airing on NBC and Peacock.
