Ben Affleck and Matt Damon sports drama “Air” release date revealed

• A release date has been set for the sports thriller.
• Starring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck that is based on Nike’s mid-1980s.
• Signing of basketball phenom Michael Jordan.

Ben Affleck directed the sports marketing movie,  will debut in theatres on April 5 before being made available on Prime Video. The Good Will Hunting actor said in a release, “Matt and I are really eager for viewers to watch ‘Air’ and delighted that it is the first release from Artists Equity.

The opportunity to work with some of the best cast and crew in the industry made the movie an exceptional experience, he continued. “They all committed passion, determination, and originality to a joint attempt at recreating a magnificent and aspirational story,” he said.

“I appreciate and admire Sue Kroll and Jen Salke’s great continued support of the project, as well as their confidence in our capacity to carry out and deliver a film we are proud of. Without Skydance, Mandalay, and Amazon Studios, it would not have been possible to complete this project.

“We value the measures it required on each of their parts to make it happen and want to thank them,” the statement added. We want to have many more experiences like this one because it was the most artistic and personal experience of our life.

Jason Bateman will play Rob Strasser, Damon will play Nike executive Sonny Vaccaro, and Affleck will play Nike co-founder Phil Knight.

Other actors who play important roles in the film include Viola Davis as Deloris Jordan, Marlon Wayans as George Raveling, Chris Tucker as Howard White, and Chris Messina as David Falk.

The movie will follow the efforts to persuade Jordon to sign the contract with the shoe company, which at the time looked unachievable but later turned out to be the most important agreement ever to be made between an athletic brand and a major figure in the footwear business.
