Maren Morris said i simply want to say I am sorry coming from country music and its relationship with LGBTQ+ people, she stated. “And I appreciate you guys for making me feel like a bold country music voice. I want to express my gratitude to you all for motivating me.”
“I’m gonna cry, I need to go,” Morris joked as the contestants praised her for being such an outspoken LGBTQ ally.

Morris sold shirts on her website with the slogan “Lunatic Country Music Person” in reference to a jab Tucker Carlson made at Brittany during an interview, and as a result of their dispute, she was able to donate more than $150,000 in a single day to the Trans Lifeline and GLAAD’s Transgender Media Program.
Morris stated in a recent interview that she “did not start making music to become an activist,” but was motivated to do so after “seeing the inequity in the genre I happened to grow up in.”
