Idina Menzel expresses regret for Let It Go change

Idina Menzel, the voice of Frozen, has shared her biggest regret with regard to the popular song Let It Go modification. In an interview with CNN Entertainment, Idina recounted how she felt uncomfortable with her vocals when she first recorded the song and requested a change.

“I knew it was a real accomplishment and a great get to be a Disney princess, to be welcomed into the Disney family and be in a musical, I knew that that was pretty epic, but I had no idea it would become the phenomenon that it did,” said the 51-year-old. Idina added, “So, I went in and sang it once, and then I went back because they had written another portion to it and modified some of the lyrics.”

I asked them to take it up because, according to the actress-singer, “I realised that I felt like my voice sounded too mature to really embody this young woman that you see in the movie. I do not know why I did that, because when I am in concert all over the world and I have a cold, I just want to kill myself,” she said.

Idina emphasised, “I asked them, “Let us take it up a half-step and see,” because that makes my voice sound a little bit more innocent and younger.” I was wondering, “Jeez, what was I thinking there,” while I was watching it just now. She sounds a little younger and more vulnerable, though, so I am happy,” she added. For those who are unaware, Idina provided the voice of Queen Elsa in Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee’s 2013 smash hit film that won two Academy Awards.
