Jack Ryan beats Netflix’s ‘Wednesday’ record
Netflix’s top new release for 2022 Prime Video’s third season of the spy drama Jack Ryan has dethroned Wednesday.
The Tom Clancy series starring John Krasinski is currently ranked first among US streaming originals by Nielsen, according to TVLine, clocking 834 billion minutes over the course of its 24 episodes.
The Addams Family spinoff, starring Jenna Ortega, comes in second with 80 billion minutes spread across eight episodes.
The business also points out that male viewers made up nearly two-thirds of Jack Ryan’s audience, with a creeping 56% share who were largely over 50.
Krasinski’s final season of the spy drama is anticipated because sources claim his contract was only for four episodes.
However, the Marvel star teased that his character still needed to be finished.
“We actually shot season 3 and season 4 back to back for almost two years straight trying to make this show,” he said. “I don’t know if this is the last time I’ll play this character… I might just do it tonight in my living room, just to keep it going!”
Reportedly, Amazon is mulling several spinoffs, including one starring Michael Peña, to keep the Tom Clancy in action.
