After Lisa Marie Presley passed away on Thursday, Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, wrote a heartfelt eulogy, describing their unexpected bond.

Fergie, 63, captioned a picture of the two sharing a tender embrace on Instagram on Friday: “I say hello to you every day and I love you my sissy and I will continue to say hello to you every day.”

“You were my sister, an incredible mother to Ben, Riley, Harper, and Finley, as well as Priscilla’s incredibly devoted daughter. I have been your dedicated friend for a very long time, and I am here to love and support your family. You are in my heart, sissy, and I am truly heartbroken.

According to a close friend of Prince Andrew’s ex-wife, Lisa Marie and she first met in 2010 while Lisa Marie was living in Sussex, England, with her ex-husband Michael Lockwood.

They were friends with Bob Geldof, his wife Jeanne Marine, Jeff Beck, and their wives Sandra, the friend said, adding that they “hit it off right away, they simply seemed to understand each other.”

When Lisa Marie returned to the United States, they remained in touch and grew fairly close. She also stood by the Duchess during her difficult times, especially when she became embroiled in the “Fake Sheikh” affair (In 2010, Fergie was recorded offering access to her ex-husband, Prince Andrew, for money).

After her initial arrest, Lisa Marie had already coded many times. The lone heir to Elvis’ estate will be buried at Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee, close to Benjamin, who committed suicide back in 2020, according to a family representative who confirmed the news on Friday.

She is survived by her twins Harper and Finely, age 14, and her daughter Riley, age 33.
