Loren fights back at parents assumption she’s a doormat ’90 day’
The criticism from Loren’s parents over their international move is something that Alexei and Loren Brovarnik are still fighting against. The couple floated the notion of relocating to Israel for a few years to raise their children in the first few episodes of Loren & Alexei: After the 90 Days, but Loren’s family rejected it right away.
On Monday’s episode, the situation worsened when Loren’s parents, Marlene and Bryan, expressed their disapproval of the relocation while taking part in a barbeque with Alexei’s family in Israel. Marlene was asked how she felt about their picking up and moving halfway across the world, but she said to Alexei’s buddy Dmitry, “I do not think you want to hear what I actually think about it.”
Marlene responded, “I think it may be quite scary, and I do not know if Loren can endure that,” when Dmitry further questioned why she felt that way.
Marlene was urged by Alexei’s mother to “trust Loren and Alexei” and give them a chance to settle in Israel, but Bryan then stepped in to express his opinions.
“I have kept my mouth shut this whole time. I am not for it. Period. Nothing you can say will change my mind,” he said. Her father merely replied, “Many reasons,” even after Loren constantly inquired as to the explanation He snapped back, “Then shut up,” to which Loren replied, “Then let us hear it.”
“We are aggressive like this. We have been aggressive the entire week,” Bryan said before confessing to the cameras, “And it got old. Hearing “the move, the move, the move” grew tiresome. felt imprisoned. I kind of snapped at him because there was nowhere else to go. To stop it, I had to. It is enough already.”
Marlene refuted his sentiment that Bryan’s opinion was “wrong” and Bryan continued to push the matter by claiming Alexei knows a thing or two about opinions. “You push your opinion out a lot,” he told Alexei.
Loren attempted to reason with her parents again, explaining that it would be better for her children and help with “their character, their strength” — but was, again, met with resistance by her parents, who insinuated that Loren will blindly follow her husband wherever.
“I have seen where she will say, ‘Alright, let’s just do what you want,” Marlene said of Loren seceding to Alexei. “Because it’s not worth a fight for me, and he does the same thing with me,” Loren argued back. “Why do you always give up on yourself?” Marlene asked, which prompted Loren to repeat what she previously stated.
“My parents believe that I am a coward, lack courage, and am incapable of pulling off this manoeuvre. It is painful, “Adding to the cameras was Loren. “After all these years, I still find myself asking questions like, “What do I have to prove to my parents?” and “Why do I have to keep proving myself to them?” It is awful.”
It is still unknown if Loren and Alexei will actually relocate to Israel. Fans will have to wait and see what choice they pick on the programme, but they told they “discuss about it all the time.”
TLC airs the episode “Loren & Alexei: After the 90 Days” every Monday at 10:30 p.m. ET.
