Manushi Chhillar made her debut in 2022 with Akshay Kumar. She played the part of Princess Sanyogita in the historical drama movie Samrat Prithviraj.

Although the movie didn’t do well at the box office, the crowd liked her performance. Recently, the stunning actress discussed her next film Tehran in an exclusive interview. In her second movie, she will appear on screen alongside John Abraham. Manushi revealed during the conversation her long list of ideal directors she’d want to collaborate with. She also discussed the ongoing argument between OTT and theatres.

When she began filming for Tehran following my debut, I believe it was a very different experience. It was a lot of fun. The movie and my character were very different, and she got to work with a totally different team. she believes she had a terrific year and a year full of many new experiences.

Samrat Prithviraj and Tehran are two whole distinct planets, timeframes, and individuals; everything about them—their thoughts, their appearances, and their behaviour—is drastically different. Actually, there isn’t a single similarity between the two. However, there isn’t much about my personality that I can really share. All I can say is that this is brand-new, and considering that most people know me as Princess Sanyogita, I imagine this will be the exact opposite.

The process of making a movie begins with pre-production, and there are a lot of people involved. At each point, everyone believes that they are acting appropriately and that everything will turn out well. But in the end, when you have the finished product and it has undergone editing and post-production, there is so much that goes into making a movie and the finished product if the audience doesn’t accept, beyond a point, as an individual and for me, who was the youngest person on set, I don’t think it’s anyone’s hands, it’s a group effort. Obviously, the audience will decide in the end. So, certainly, it would have felt nicer if it had had a greater box office result.

These platforms aren’t in direct competition with one another, but they do appeal to different audiences. There are still people who enjoy watching quality movies in theaters and want to go there in order to fully enjoy the cinematic experience. Another audience like to view a particular genre of movie in the privacy of their own homes.

There are many different types of material being produced. That’s excellent, then. Of course, everyone has their own theories on why things have failed, or they may simply claim that no excellent movies have been produced. Additionally, I’ve heard it suggested that individuals only feel comfortable at home, so why would they go to the theater? or that “Oh, you know, due of COVID, everyone was afraid of becoming sick or catching it, therefore they didn’t want to venture outside or go to a closed venue, like a theater” is what many have claimed.

There were numerous films in this cycle of whatever movies there were. There are so many movies released because there is such a backlog. We believe that many films have underperformed since the majority of them were created before the epidemic, and in the past two years, our tastes in entertainment and the manner we consume it have changed. I firmly believe that many of these movies, had they been released, say, a year, two, or more ago, would have done considerably differently because, at the time, we were accustomed to seeing things very differently.

In addition to everything else I’ve already discussed, I believe that has been a major factor. And as I previously mentioned, the good thing about OTT is that it offers more opportunities not only for actors but also for directors, independent producers, and technicians. Additionally, OTT also appeals to a very specialized audience that likely won’t go to the theater but will enjoy a particular genre of film.

Therefore, in my opinion, that is a positive development. But once more, I believe that the main cause of this was that nothing happened for two years. For a long, we were unable to even film; eventually, however, filming resumed and production activities began, but theaters remained closed. As a result, I believe that most of the content felt extremely old. And if a movie is good, like in the case of Kantara, which I may use as an example, I believe it to be excellent. It was great fun for me. I believe that a good film will draw spectators to the theater.
