Meghan Markle thought ‘royals were against her’ with photo

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry decided to leave their positions as senior royals over three years ago after becoming “convinced” that the Royal Family opposed them after taking on a New Year duty in 2020, according to the sources.

Early in 2020, following rumours that they were “unhappy” with royal life, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex resigned down from their roles as senior royals and relocated to the US.

According to royal author Andrew Morton, who commented on this in his book Meghan: A Hollywood Princess, it’s possible that Harry and Meghan’s decision to move out was made as a result of the publication of a photograph by the late Queen Elizabeth to ring in the new year; it featured her alongside the three heirs to the throne, Charles, Prince William, and Prince George.

“The royal couple suspected that the entire institution was conspiring against them. As they saw it, the evidence was all around them,” according to Morton.

The article continued, underlining how the Queen’s picture was a symbol of the future of the monarchy and excluded the Sussexes: “The unspoken code was straightforward: the future of the monarchy was assured, with or without Meghan and Harry,”

Since then, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made Montecito their home. There, they currently reside with their two children, Archie and Lilibet, in a mansion.
