Prince Harry says William and Kate told him to dress up as Nazi leader

Prince William and Kate urged Prince Harry to dress up as a Nazi for a fancy dress party, according to reports.

In 2005, the Duke of Sussex, then 20, sparked uproar when he was photographed donning a soldier’s outfit replete with a swastika.

He recently addressed the incident during the third episode of Harry & Meghan, the Netflix docuseries, stating it was “one of the biggest mistakes of his life”.

Harry has now moved some of the responsibility for the incident to his brother and sister-in-law, according to a leaked excerpt from his new memoir Spare.

He writes about seeking William and Kate’s guidance on whether to wear a pilot’s costume or a Nazi uniform.

Harry writes in a section of the book obtained by reputed media outlet:”I phoned Willy and Kate, asked what they thought. Nazi uniform, they said.”

He continues, “both howled” when he got home and tried it on for them.

“Worse than Willy’s leotard outfit!”, he adds. “Way more ridiculous! Which, again, was the point.”

His remarks come as a separate leaked excerpt from the book, obtained by The Guardian, claimed that Prince William physically assaulted him during a dispute about his marriage to Meghan Markle.

The incident, according to Harry, occurred at his London home in 2019 and left him with a visible damage to his back after the Prince of Wales grabbed his brother by the collar and pulled his necklace before knocking him to the floor.

Harry also claimed William had labelled the American actress “difficult,” “rude,” and “abrasive,” comments he claimed were based on “the journalistic narrative” about his wife.

Kensington Palace has not responded to the accusations.

The “extraordinary scene” according to the publication, is “one of many” in Spare, which will be published on January 10.

According to the article, Harry’s elder brother wanted to share “the full rolling calamity” of their relationship and issues with the press.
