Ginny & Georgia creator Sarah Lampert exclusively reveals to  ahead of the series’ season 2 premiere that Georgia Miller (Brianne Howey) struggles with the fallout after her teenage daughter Ginny (Antonia Gentry) learns that she killed her second husband Kenny at the conclusion of the first season.

She says of Georgia: “I think for her, it’s recognizing that her daughter knows this terrible secret about her. She is quickly plunged into a maelstrom of feelings, including panic since her meticulously created compartments are bleeding together.

She continues, “I believe Georgia is experiencing a profound sense of shame, wrath, despair, fear, really everything.

Lampert also makes fun of Ginny, saying she will hit her “breaking point” when she realizes her mother is a killer and flees the house.

Before learning that her mother was a murderer, this character was experiencing a lot of anxiety, the author explains. Now that her story is revealed, the character’s already high level of fear has been increased.

When the mother-daughter team eventually gets together, Lampert assures there will be “a lot going on under the surface.”

Ginny left behind her on-again, off-again love interest Marcus Baker (Felix Mallard) in her hometown of Wellsbury, Massachusetts, as she dealt with the emotional repercussions of her mother’s secret.

Marcus, according to Lampert, is “truly mostly bewildered and disturbed” by her departure “because, at the end of the day, he really loves her.” “He is always there for her, albeit occasionally in his own mistaken, stupid, teenage male manner. Despite this, he has a strong capacity for emotion, and he feels a great deal of emotion for Ginny.”

The two’s bond will be further explored in season 2, says Lampert.

“In season one, we talked a lot about how Ginny should look for secure places on her own. We actually dissected her at the very basic level, “she claims. “Really, season two is about rehabilitating her,”

“Marcus is one of her safe havens. They seem to be really at ease with one another, “She goes on. “They connect with one other in a truly accepting, emotional, and uncommon way. Therefore, I believe we just wanted to delve a little bit farther into it for her and Marcus in season two.”

After her fiancé Paul Randolph’s (Scott Porter) conventional family is less than thrilled with their engagement, Georgia will have to deal with her own fears in season 2.
