Sarah Michelle Gellar disregards Kelly Ripa’s ‘career advice’
Sarah Michelle Gellar, who is now promoting her new TV series Wolf Pack, revealed how she had wanted to leave her show in the mid-1990s to move to California but Kelly, a friend and co-star, had discouraged her. Kelly made a point to say that she is glad Sarah disregarded her “career advise” on the same broadcast.
The 52-year-old recalled the actress’ departure from All My Children when she declared, “I am moving out to California.”
What?,” Kelly recalled saying to Sarah. Nothing exists in California. What are you referring to? How do you feel? You believe you will achieve fame? You will remain in this area where the work is! Theater! TV!” said Kelly. Sarah was like, “You are wrong,” Kelly recalled. “I am so delighted she ignored me. She succeeded! “Hold my beer, I am going to go be a star,” she said, Kelly said.
Sarah did, however, have a fruitful career in both film and television. She rose to fame with her iconic character Buffy in Buffy The Vampire Slayer, which had run for six years.
Sarah was also featured in hit movies including Cruel Intentions, The Grudge, Scooby-Doo and I Know What You Did Last Summer.
