Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell are to star in a new rom-com
Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney will star in a new romantic comedy. The two have joined the cast of the untitled, R-rated Sony Pictures acquisition from director Will Gluck.
The story’s details are presently being kept a secret, but it is based on a script by Ilana Wolpert that Gluck is revising.
After defining Sydney’s schedule in light of her ‘Euphoria’ work commitments, Sony secured the project at the end of last year. By the end of the next month, filming is anticipated to start.
For her Fifty-Fifty Films imprint, Sweeney is executive producing alongside Gluck, Joe Roth, and Jeff Kirschenbaum.
Sydney is building a remarkable array of upcoming projects, and she will also star in a new “Barbarella” movie.
The new movie is based on a French comic book series by Jean-Claude Forest that was originally adapted for the big screen in 1968, with Jane Fonda in the lead.
In the Roger Vadim-directed original film, an astronaut from the 41st century set out to track down the villainous scientist Durand Durand and prevent him from reintroducing evil to the galaxy.
Although it wasn’t a big box office success at the time, it did become a cult favourite, and the Forest estate stated there were plans for a second movie in 2020.
