Todd Chrisley, 53, “the legal system, which we have never been a part of until now, is a highly intricate system that we just are still learning and we do not know.” “You simply have to hope and trust to God that the next level, which is the appellate court, sees the flaws and tries to fix those mistakes when one division of the judicial system fails.”

He continued, “That’s the best that you can hope for. And you have to put your faith in God and hope that God is going to lift you up and push you forward. And that’s what we’re doing right now.”

There are “so many more people that are facing considerably worse than what we are facing,” the reality star is aware. He does, however, think that what they are going through now will not last forever.

Because I am aware that this is not my ultimate goal, I believe that is why I am in a better position with it, he stated. “I am aware that this might be my immediate future, but I also have confidence in the legal system to change things. Additionally, I am confident that the appellate court will see this for what it is.”

In June 2022, the pair was found guilty by a jury and sentenced to death. Even after their November 2022 sentencing, they both remained adamant about their innocence.

Todd was sentenced to 12 years in prison, while Julie received a seven-year term, according to the judge. Following the completion of their sentences, each will need to complete a 16-month probationary period.

Todd and Julie are both currently working on appealing their cases. Musa Ghanayem, the attorney for their daughter Lindsie Chrisley, told  that if a new trial was ordered, “the legal process would be that they would have to go through the same process again.”

Recently, the two reality stars requested and were denied release on bail pending appeal.

Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice — who, along with her now ex-husband, Joe Giudice, also did time for fraud charges — recently offered the couple advice on how to get through their time in prison.

“It’s going to be very hard but they have to make the best of it,” Teresa, 50, said in an interview with TMZ. “But they have to stand strong for their family and stay connected to their children and make it work.”
