The “Your Place or Mine” actor acknowledged his struggle with vaculitis has changed his mindset in 2019.

His fortune over the years also frees him from having to choose projects based solely on their pay checks, allowing him to be more picky.

The 44-year-old celebrity also wants to enjoy himself while at work.

He said: “I’m hankering to find something fun.”

Ashton, who is married to Mila Kunis and has children Wyatt, 8, and Dimitri, 6, will next be seen with Reese Witherspoon in the romantic comedy “Your Place or Mine,” but he almost passed on the role because it would be shot in Georgia during the academic year.

He said: “I have young kids, and I like my kids a lot. I like spending time with them.”

But Ashon agreed to a contract to fund the additional production costs generated by shooting in Los Angeles out of his own income even though he knew the movie will be shot in Georgia due to tax benefits provided to Hollywood producers.

Reese said: “He loves his family so deeply and really is such an incredible dad who shows up every day for his kids.

“There is no pretense. He is just very comfortable in his own skin. And did I mention he is hysterically funny?”

The actors had limited on-screen interactions, but they still managed to communicate. They would give each other daily videos before shooting, and they even discussed the same book, “When Breath Becomes Air,” in their discussions.

Reese said: “We would talk about everything from our favorite football teams, stupid things our dogs did, what we were making for dinner, [to] how we felt about life in general.”
