LOS ANGELES (AP) — As the Grammys‘ most awarded performer in history, Beyoncé currently occupies the throne alone. However, Harry Styles was the winner of the album of the year award at the conclusion of Sunday’s performance.

Beyoncé was not on stage at the conclusion of the Grammys because the show distributed its top prizes to other performers. Even though she wasn’t present, the star was always present during the event, especially after she won her 32nd award, passing the late conductor Georg Solti in terms of all-time triumphs.

“I’m trying not to be too emotional,” the superstar said after her historic win as her husband Jay-Z stood and applauded her. The singer thanked her late uncle, her parents, Jay-Z and her children for supporting her. “I’m just trying to receive this night. I want to thank God for protecting me. Thank you, God.”

Beyoncé hasn’t appeared on the Grammys stage at the conclusion of the night since 2010, when “Single Ladies” won song of the year for her. For her album “Renaissance,” she earned four new awards to her collection.

Styles was emotional accepting his album of the year award, saying he was inspired by everyone in the category. “A lot of different times of my life, I’ve listened to everyone in these categories. It’s so important to remember that there is no such thing as best.”

The British singer-actor took home three awards Sunday. “It feels like validation that you’re on the right path,” said the singer backstage. “When we get in the studio and begin the record, we just make the music we want to make. It feels really nice to feel like ‘Oh, that’s the right thing to do.’”

Early in the show, Beyoncé tied Solti’s record without being present. She was in route to the ceremony, according to host Trevor Noah, but she was unable to attend in person because of traffic in Los Angeles.

The night’s top candidate, Beyoncé, eventually arrived, and Noah gave her the award for best R&B song at her table.

Beyoncé received awards for “Cuff It,” a dance-electric single, “Break My Soul,” a conventional R&B performance, “Plastic Off the Sofa,” and “Renaissance,” a dance-electric album that was up for album of the year.
