Gillian Anderson, Rufus Sewell to star in new film ‘Scoop’
The cast of the upcoming film Scoop, which is based on Prince Andrew’s shocking 2019 interview with the BBC, has been formally revealed by Netflix, according to reports.
The four lead actors who will appear in Scoop were unveiled by the streaming service on Tuesday. The BBC host who conducted the shocking interview will be portrayed by Gillian Anderson, who won a Golden Globe and an Emmy for her role as Margaret Thatcher in The Crown.
According to sources, Rufus Sewell, who is best known for his roles in The Illusionist, has been chosen to play Prince Andrew.
Taking to Twitter, Anderson shared the casting announcement and wrote, “Very excited to get started!”
The Crown writer Philip Martin will helm Scoop, a film based on Prince Andrew’s shocking BBC interview from 2019 about his connections to infamous financier Jeffrey Epstein.
Sanjay Singhal for Voltage TV and Hilary Salmon and Radford Neville for The Lighthouse Film & Television will produce the movie.
