NMIXX announces Expérgo with first teaser
NMIXX, a rookie band, has revealed the name of their upcoming return: Expérgo. After uploading a mystery video that caught fans off guard, the trio later declared their comeback to the public.
The group’s upcoming comeback, which will be its first EP, is scheduled to drop in March.
After making their debut with the album Ad Mare, the group was dogged by problems after being accused of ripping off the well-known boy band Ateez. The band’s distinctive sound, which used their own genre called Mixx Pop, was also attacked.
In 2022, they made a second reappearance under the name Entwurf. The band encountered controversy shortly after their second comeback when JYP revealed that Jinni, one of the members, had opted to leave the group for personal reasons.
“Jinni has quit NMIXX,” said the agency in a statement. “Please support Jinni, who will now walk a new path. NMIXX will continue its musical activities as a sextet (consisting of Kyujin, Sullyoon, Jiwoo, Bae, Haewon and Lily), so please support the group as well, as it keeps pursuing its dream. We apologize for fueling worries.”
Despite the issues, the trio won the MAMA award for Favorite New Artist in 2022, and when their debut song O.O was released, it set numerous YouTube records. KpopStarz reports that the MV reached one million views within an hour of its release and five million views within two hours.
