Although members of the Royal Family frequently mingle with legendary actors and actresses from theatre and screen, it is extremely uncommon for them to become stars themselves.

The public is not accustomed to seeing royals dazzling on the silver screen, despite the fact that two actresses have already married into the family.

But in 2009, Princess Beatrice broke the royal code when she appeared in a movie about her lookalike great-great-great-grandmother, Queen Victoria.

Sarah, Duchess of York, the mother of Beatrice, served as the film’s producer because of her intense interest in the illustrious queen.

The Young Victoria, which was published in 2009, depicts the 18-year-old Queen Victoria’s early years of rule.

As her mother and comptroller, Sir John Conroy, fought to persuade the Queen to sign a regency order, it reveals the political conflicts she encountered. It also puts a particular emphasis on her early friendship with Prince Albert.

Emily Blunt plays Queen Victoria in the movie, and Rupert Friend plays Prince Albert. Jim Broadbent, Paul Bettany, Mark Strong, and Miranda Richardson are a few of the other well-known cast members.

In the coronation scene at the opening of the movie, Princess Beatrice makes a quick appearance as one of The Queen’s Ladies-in-Waiting.

It is well known that Sarah, Duchess of York, has a deep appreciation for Queen Victoria’s life and legacy; in fact, she named both of her daughters after the monarch.

The Queen’s youngest daughter was given the name Princess Beatrice, and all three of Princess Eugenie’s names (Eugenie Victoria Helena) continue this pattern. Helena was one of Queen Victoria’s children, while Eugenie was a granddaughter of the monarch who would later become Queen Eugenie of Spain.

When the princess’ son August was born in 2021, she continued this tradition. Prince Albert, the spouse of Queen Victoria, went by the name August. His name was Franz Albert August Karl Emanuel at his baptism.

The name of the infant royal could also be a reference to Prince Augustus, Duke of Sussex, a peculiar son of King George III and a beloved uncle of Queen Victoria.
