Shilpa Rao, the vocalist of Besharam Rang, lauds Deepika-chemistry SRK’s

Prior to its release, Pathaan garnered media attention for the Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan-performed song Besharam Rang. When the song, which featured Deepika wearing an orange swimsuit, was released in December, it drew criticism from certain people who didn’t like the fact that it was set on a Spanish beach. With many complimenting its two catchy songs, Besharam Rang and Jhoome Jo Pathaan, Pathaan has been breaking box office records since its January 25 release. Shilpa Rao, the singer for Besharam Rang, has since discussed the reasons behind her song’s success in a new interview.

Besharam Rang’s music video was launched on December 12, 2022, and since then, numerous social media users have replicated the song, with astounding outcomes. Shilpa Rao claimed that the ‘chemistry’ between Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan in Besharam Rang is what’makes the song popular’ in a recent interview. She continued, “I felt encouraged to sing it” since Deepika is “celebrating herself” in the song, “the good, the bad, and the faultless.”

“In this one, Deepika is having a party for herself. It’s wonderful to witness Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika’s on-screen chemistry. They appear stunning in the music video. The director of Pathaan, Siddharth Anand, informed me that she is honoring herself [in all her glory] in this song, flaws and all. I was therefore quite inspired to sing that song,” Shilpa said.

In response to how Besharam Rang is being used as a means of “expression,” Shilpa added, “I still think a song has to be great just the way it is. Therefore, it is crucial that the song has a catchy tune and words that people can relate to. Promotion, reach, and reels will follow after it reaches that point because it is the only time when people will take notice of it and make it popular. I believe the only reason this song has been successful is because listeners have understood its message, which is to express yourself honestly and to accept yourself as you are. People are expressing themselves because they understand it, which is why it’s becoming more and more popular.

Vaibhavi Merchant, the choreographer for Besharam Rang, has responded to her song’s detractors. She argued that people don’t typically wear entire outfits to the beach in order to explain Deepika’s appearance in the song, which included her orange bathing suit. She also claimed that it made sense for Shah Rukh Khan to be “shirtless” on the beach because the song is all about “sensuality.”
