One of the “most decorated comedic actors of our time,” according to a statement from the White House, Louis-Dreyfus will be among the twelve people to receive the National Medal of Arts.

Louis-Dreyfus has “blazed a trail for women in comedy,” according to the statement. She is most known for her portrayal as the dissatisfied, overlooked vice president who winds up in the main position on “Veep” and causes the White House to experience a series of comedic disasters. Legendary singer Bruce Springsteen, who has been called “one of our greatest performers and storytellers,” is among those competing for the award.

Fashion designer Vera Wang and seasoned blues, gospel, and pop singer Gladys Knight are also included on the list. The National Humanities Medal will be given to writers Ann Patchett and Walter Isaacson.
