Naseeruddin & Ratna spent minimal money on a lavish dinner date

In the 1980s, Ratna Pathak Shah, the daughter of Dina Pathak, had her acting debut in the well-known TV series Idhar Udhar. The actor has been performing for more than four decades on stage, screen, and television. He turns 66 on Saturday, March 18. They did, however, have a humorous but awkward encounter at a posh costly restaurant with little money when she was just becoming started and dating another actor, Naseeruddin Shah.

A few years into their relationship, Ratna and Naseeruddin Shah decided to get married on April 2, 1982. Imaad and Vivaan Shah, their two sons, are both actors. Heeba Shah, the actor’s daughter from his first marriage, is also an actor. Ratna described the almost uncomfortable encounter at a Mumbai eatery that left them checking their wallets for the payment. The uncertainty was further increased by the restaurant’s biased practice of maintaining separate menus for men and women.

The comedians Sumukhi Suresh and Kaneez Surka’s AlB podcast from 2017 featured Ratna’s story about how her ex-boyfriend Naseeruddin made a mistake by ordering too much food on a fancy dinner date. She remarked, “These posh restaurants used to have two menu cards back in the day. One for the women and one for the men. The one for the lady didn’t show the prices while the one for males did. This was the Taj. if I may use that phrase. We had about 400 when Naseeruddin Shah and I traveled together for the first time. We went to this meal even though we were just starting out in life and had very little money. I received the menu card and the cash in error.

In Kutch Express, Ratna recently made her feature film debut in Gujarati cinema. Earlier this year, the actor made an appearance in the Netflix web series Trial By Fire. She is now starring in the comedy series Happy Family: Conditions Apply on Prime Video as the matriarch of a close-knit Gujarati family.
