Snehlata Dixit, Madhuri Dixit’s mother, died at the age of 90

Snehlata Dixit, the mother of Madhuri Dixit, passed away. 90 years old. According to reports, her last rituals would be conducted on Saturday in Mumbai. We are awaiting more information regarding the cause of her passing.

In a joint statement issued by India Today, Madhuri Dixit and her husband Shriram Nene said, “Our beloved Aai (mother), Snehalata, passed away peacefully this morning surrounded by her loved ones.”

Mumbai was Madhuri’s birthplace. With Abodh, she made her acting debut in 1984. In 1999, she wed Dr. Sriram Nene, with whom she had two boys. Shriram Nene had published a touching post on his mother-in-law last month. “My 90-year-old mother-in-law paints,” he tweeted. She can’t see very well because she has macular degeneration. Yet it’s amazing what comes out of her thinking. She is the loveliest, most positive person in the world. We had her paintings placed on mugs to remind us of her talent.”

Madhuri, the youngest of four siblings, discussed her mother in an interview she gave last year. The actor claimed that even when she rose to fame, her family never treated her any differently. Madhuri claimed that because of her upbringing, she was never affected by stardom.
Madhuri had previously told about how her mother Snehlata Dixit’s treatment of her remained the same even after she rose to fame and fortune as an actor. “I mean, even when I was acting in films, my mom used to criticize me if my room was cleaned up and things like that,” Madhuri had said. So that is how I was raised. And I am in that way. Everything is back in the studio when I get home.It’s just a different life when I see my husband and kids. I was never truly lost.

Madhuri honored her “aai” (mother), Snehlata, 90 years old in June with a collection of pictures of the family and a heartfelt Instagram post. Madhuri appeared with her mother and her husband Shriram Nene in the first photo. A single portrait of the late Snehalata was also there. Happy birthday, Aai!” it said in the caption. A mother is a daughter’s best friend, so the saying goes. They couldn’t possibly be more correct. The greatest gift you have given me out of all that you have done for me are the lessons that you have taught me. You just have my best wishes for health and joy!
