Tom Sizemore passed away after being hospitalized for a brain aneurysm. He was most known for his appearances in the military action thrillers Saving Private Ryan and Black Hawk Down. He was 61.

Two weeks after the actor collapsed following a stroke that caused an aneurysm, Tom’s manager Charles Lago confirmed his death to PEOPLE on Friday. He has been unconscious and in a critical state since February 18; he has not awakened.

Actor Thomas Edward Sizemore (“Tom Sizemore”), 61, passed away quietly in his sleep tonight at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Burbank, according to a statement from his representative. He was accompanied by his twin sons Jayden and Jagger, both 17 years old, and his brother Paul Sizemore. In a statement, Paul expressed his “great sadness” over the passing of his older brother Tom.

“The man was enormous. More than anyone I know, he has had an impact on my life. He was gifted, kind, and generous, and his wit and storytelling prowess could keep you amused for hours. I will always mourn him and feel devastated by his passing.”

The twins are “devastated by the loss of their father,” according to the actor’s rep. Lago stated that a private cremation service would be held for the family, followed by a larger celebration of life in a few weeks. Tom’s “previous two years were terrific for him and he was bringing his life back to a great position,” Largo continued.

Lago previously announced that the Saving Private Ryan star’s loved ones were “deciding end-of-life matters” in a statement earlier this week. As of Monday, “His family was informed by the doctor that there is no longer any hope and that making an end-of-life decision is advised. The family is currently making decisions regarding the end of life, and a new statement will be released on Wednesday “Lago at the time added
